Storing art project samples is SUPER important. I used to just stack the projects I made on a shelf in the back of my classroom and pull them out when I needed them. Even though I was super careful when I placed them on the shelf, they became damaged and not very appealing to show my students. Over the years, I have used many different things to store my samples in, but I have finally found one that works really well.
These vinyl portfolios are a game changer. They are super affordable, spacious, and they have a zipper and handles making them really easy to move around my art room.

It’s really important to store your art project samples properly because it will save you a ton of time by not having to make them every time you start a project with your students. I have projects from years ago, that I still use and that are in fantastic shape because I make sure to store them safely. Paper portfolios have worked well too, but I like that the vinyl is waterproof .

I find it’s very helpful to put one grade level in each portfolio. I organize them by grade levels so it is easier to find the projects you are looking for. I label each portfolio with a piece of different colored duct tape. You can also keep a list of the project samples that are in the portfolio, to make finding the samples a little faster and easier.
